Argomento dell'Evento
Goal:
The aim of the present workshop is to transfer to the participants the experience on endoscopic/microscopic resections of malignant head and neck cancers, by lectures, videos and round tables.
The following topics will be discussed:
TLM trans oral laser microsurgery, TORS trans oral robotic surgery, TOUSS trans oral ultrasonic surgery, and TRS trans oral radiofrequency surgery .
All these surgical methods share a mini invasive approach compared to the classical open surgery.
Mini invasive approaches should ensure a better quality of life with the same survival rates
.
Topics:
•inside-out anatomy in the upper aerodigestive tract
•mini invasive surgery’s philosophy
•optical imaging (narrow band imaging, autofluorescence, image 1S,Vitom3D)
•transoral approach vs open approach: surgical indications compared
•superficial resection margins’ evaluation
•deep resection margins’ evaluation
•histopathologic analysis in piecemeal resection
•surgical instrumentations
•CO2 laser technology: wave guide laser with flexible fiber vs laser with micromanipulator
•piezoelectric, ultrasounds and radiofrequency technologies
•microscopic vs endoscopic resections
•reconstructions after transoral approaches
•prophylaxis and post operative medical therapy
•fexiblerobotic surgery
•Da Vinci robotic surgery
•patients’ selection
•functional evaluation
•quality of life evaluation
•intra and post operative complications
•adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy
• multidisciplinary board
•health technology assessment
